is a singer/pianist/composer/lyricist and has been performing for the last 37 years with some of the worlds best musicians. Including Pete Escovedo, Sheila E, Peter Michael Escovedo, Juan Escovedo, The James Brown Band, El Debarge,Tuck and Patti, Vet Stone, Rose Stone, Ziggy Modeliste, Tom Politzer, Elvin Bishop, Justo Almario, Mike McGuffey, Chris Cain, Kenny Neal,Tommy Castro, Curtis Lawson, Martin Kember, Sugar Pie Desanto, Anika Noni Rose, The Angels, Lady Bianca, EC Scott, and Sy Smith.
Simon performed in honor of Quincy Jones for Black History Month 2013.
Performed for Time Magazine New York Icon of the Year Party (Michelle Yeoh) 2022.
Recorded on Pete Escovedo's "Rythym Of the Night" CD in 2022 followed by a music video 2023.
He has toured nationally and internationally including, Japan, Chile, Costa Rica, Argentina, Mexico, Alaska, The Caribbean, Canada and Switzerland.
Among his many interests Simon Russell has found a passion in music education. Over the last 19 years Simon has taught all over the Bay Area. In 2018 he started and co-owned Notes Music Academy and Notes For Change a non-profit dedicated to raising money for free instruments and lessons for under-served communities. In 2021 Simon Russell created Clefology.com Online Music Instruction, an online and after school program which he now co-owns with his business partner.
